Wastewater and Stormwater Repair Project – Agreement #M0104

The project includes conversion of wastewater infrastructure to a gravity system to create a more resilient wastewater system that functions even in the absence of power Additionally, the project will address stormwater infrastructure that is no longer sufficient due to increased runoff resulting from Hurricane Michael. This increased run-off is now creating flooding problems along County Road 12, an evacuation route and at the new replacement high school built after Hurricane Michael that serves as the main shelter for Liberty County.

Municipal Water Infrastructure Project – Agreement #MT149

The City of Bristol is proposing to make necessary upgrades to its municipal water infrastructure, including the addition of a new production well and the replacement of failing water lines, as well as addressing gaps in hydrant placement within low-to-moderate income neighborhoods. Following Hurricane Michael, Liberty County developed a long-term recovery plan identifying key recovery projects and actions, with a top priority being the enhancement of critical infrastructure to address existing challenges and support future growth. Additionally, the County’s Local Mitigation Strategy identified the upgrade of water systems to ensure operability during disasters as a key mitigation initiative. This project fulfills those mitigation goals and strengthens the City’s resilience to future disasters.
